九川问：「此功夫却于心上体验明白，只解书不通。」
先生曰：「只要解心。心明白，书自然融会。若心上不通，只要书上文义通，却自生意见。」
九川问：「这功夫在心上体验得明白，只是解书不通。」
先生说：「只要解心。心明白了，书自然融会。若心上不通，只在书中文义上求通，反倒生出许多意见。」
I asked: 'The work is clear tasted on the mind; only the books will not open.'
The Master said: 'Only unbind the mind. The mind clear, the books fuse of themselves. With the mind shut, forcing the letter through only breeds opinions.'
