问：「先儒谓『鸢飞』、『鱼跃』，与『必有事焉』同一活泼泼地。」
先生曰：「亦是。天地间活泼泼地，无非此理，便是吾良知的流行不息。『致良知』便是『必有事』的功夫。此理非惟不可离，实亦不得而离也。无往而非道，无往而非工夫。」
问：「先儒说『鸢飞』『鱼跃』与『必有事焉』同样活泼泼地。」
先生说：「也对。天地之间活泼泼地，无非此理，便是我良知的流行不息。『致良知』便是『必有事』的功夫。此理不但不可离，实际也离不得。无处不是道，无处不是功夫。」
Asked: 'The scholars of old said the kite's soaring and fish's leaping are, like always-having-the-task, quick and alive.'
The Master said: 'So it is. All between heaven and earth, quick and alive, is this very principle — the unresting flow of my innate knowledge. Extending innate knowledge is the work of the task at hand. Not to be parted from — in truth it cannot be parted from: nowhere not the Way, nowhere not the work.'
