先生说：「格物不分动静，静也是物。孟子说『必有事焉』，是动和静都有事在做功夫。」
Someone asked: 'Is the work of investigating things done in movement?'
The Master said: 'It brooks no division of movement and stillness — stillness too is a thing. Mencius's always having the task at hand means the work goes on in movement and stillness alike.'
