问：「知至善即吾性，吾性具吾心，吾心乃至善所止之地，则不为向时之纷然外求，而志定矣。定则不扰扰而静，静而不妄动则安，安则一心一意只在此处，千思万想，务求必得此至善，是能虑而得矣。如此说是否？」
先生曰：「大略亦是。」
有人问：「知道至善就是我的性，我的性具于我心，我心便是至善所止之地，于是不再像从前那样纷纷外求，志就定了。定便不纷扰而静，静而不妄动便安，安便一心一意只在此处，千思万想务必求得这个至善，这便是能虑而能得了。这样说对吗？」
先生说：「大略也是。」
Someone asked: 'Knowing the highest good is my nature, my nature lodged in my mind, my mind the resting place of the highest good — then I no longer seek wildly outside, and the will is settled. Settled, no turmoil: stillness. Still and not moving rashly: peace. At peace, single-minded, ten thousand thoughts bent on attaining this highest good — this is being able to deliberate and attain. Is this right?'
The Master said: 'Broadly, yes.'
